PANUI AROHA - VERA FLAVELL Ko wai e kite i te wāhine e ū ana tōna pai? Ko tōna utu hoki kei runga noa atu i to ngā rupi.
Ka whakatika ana tamāriki, a he kupu manaaki ta rātou mōna; Tana tane hoki, ka whakamoemiti ano ia ki a ia, ka mea.
He pānui aroha tēnei nō te whānau o Wiramina (VERA) Flavell, te hoa rangatira o ta matou tino kaumatua TImoti, ara te whaea purotu o Timoti Jnr, Deryck, Denise, Tane me Taki, me te tūpuna whaea o nga tini mokopuna. Surrounded by the loving faces and sounds of her whānau, friends and home, Vera) Flavell (nee Waerea) passed away this morning at her home in Waiari on Karikari Peninsula.
We all have fabulous memories of Vera. My personal favourites are of travelling long distances with her and Te Taumata Kaumātua Kuia o Ngāti Kahu while she strummed away on her ukulele singing the golden oldies and making every trip that much quicker and happier. I would loved to have posted a link to the song that she and her late great mate Waireti sang for the MANA party, but it's eluding me at the moment. The memory alone makes me smile. Engari, the most important mark of Vera's life is her great and enduring faith in her Saviour Jesus Christ, and her great (if sometimes exasperated) love and support for the sweetheart of her life, uncle Timoti, and for all their uri. She is truly a virtuous woman worth more than rubies.
To uncle Timoti Flavell, Timmy, Derek, Denise, Tane, Taki and all your tamāriki mokopuna - we know you will miss her hugely but we also know you will continue the living and loving she shared with you all. To our people - the whānau will advise us of the details of whaea Vera's tangihanga and we will pass them on to you as they come to hand.
Nō reira, e te whaea Vera, haere ki to kainga tūturu, haere haere haere atu rā. Tēnei te mihi kia tātou katoa. Kia ora rā. Nā,
