Good morning everyone from the Far North. Today at the Waiharara fire we have 64 firefighters on the ground, they are being supported by the same number of support staff. The support staff range from the Incident Management Team to helicopter pilots and heavy machinery operators. We also have nine pieces of heavy machinery and four helicopters and another one available. Everyone plays a crucial role in the management of this fire. Yesterday a predicted easterly wasn't as strong as first thought, but it does appear as if some wind from the east is starting to come through this morning. There was also some sporadic rain on the fire ground yesterday afternoon, with some areas getting quite wet, and others barely seeing a drop. During day 22, our team will continue to focus on a number of strategic areas of the fire ground. From us to you, thank you for your support and have a great day.
